I may be looking out my window at 6 foot piles of snow the plow guy has kicked up along my driveway, but in my heart it is a hot Wednesday afternoon at the Farmers Market and there are piles of fresh tomatoes just waiting to be chomped into! Planning has already begun for the 2014 season, so this happy day-dream is fast approaching. Here’s a few reminders to get you in the Market mood…
The first outdoor market is Wednesday, June 4, in the parking area and field next to the Elkins Library. 4-6:30pm, RAIN or SHINE!
Applications for Market Vendors are now being accepted! You can find the application form and the pertinent info at the Meet the Vendors tab.
> > > We are particularly looking for Vendors who use fresh and local ingredients to make ready-to-eat food, the kind you can carry in your hand and nosh on as you wander around the Market and listen to the music. Note: This vendor must be up-to-date on all the happy regs from the State of NH concerning how and what you can prepare at farmers markets, and have the proper licensing if it’s required.
We are also looking for volunteers for our “sign-putting-out committee” to help us deploy the bright yellow road signs on the Tuesday of each week during the market season, and help pick the signs up again on Wednesday evening when the Market is done. Drop us a line at firstname.lastname@example.org and we’ll contact you as the committee gets organized.
The Market is happy to welcome new and renewing Members for the 2014 season. We have an enthusiastic goal of having 50 members this year! Member applications are available at the HELP US GROW tab, and will be available at Town Meeting, March 14. Membership is $25, and helps to support the goals and programs of the Market, as well as help to pay for the musicians and advertising.
We look forward to seeing you at Town Meeting. Stop by our table, meet and greet a few Board Members, get a schedule for the year, pick up a free recipe, become a member!
