We have had a generous $100 donation to kick off our “Mary Ellen’s Basket” charitable giving program. Named in memory and honor of Mary Ellen Fifield, stalwart community member and market supporter, we will use all contributions to purchase fresh, local produce and groceries to fill holiday baskets for those in Canterbury who could use a helping hand. Please visit the Market Info table at the indoor market on Saturday, Nov. 15 – we will be happy to accept your contribution to “Mary Ellen’s Basket”!
On a chilly Saturday in November, look for the Canterbury Farmers Market just up the hill from where we are in the summer…we’ll be setting up shop in the Canterbury Elementary School gym! Find us there from 10am to 1pm. Our vendors will be bringing all kinds of goodies to help you prepare for the Thanksgiving holiday, and enjoy just plain good eatin’ for the rest of the month. Plus we will have the always anticipated raffle for a bountiful basket of market goodies — you get to keep the basket, too! There will be warm and wooly crafts, layered baking mixes, jams and all kinds of pickled goodness, too. Plenty of things to gift and to keep for yourself this holiday season!
Don’t worry if you forgot your piggy bank that day – stop by the Market Info table and ask Mindy to show you our new credit/debit machine. You can use either form of payment to buy tokens accepted by any of our vendors.
See you soon!
140 folks came to our somewhat drizzly last day. What fine friends we have!
—> Please note that the INDOOR markets are on Saturdays, run from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m., and are held in the Canterbury Elementary School gym. Click on the “Hours and Directions” tab for complete driving directions. The indoor market is quite literally just up the hill from the center of Canterbury. You could easily park in the center and walk up the hill, but hiking back to your car with bulging bags of bread, and meat, and jam, and veggies might not be so easy! :~) Good thing there is plenty of parking up at the school. See you there!
