A Small Problem…

This week was “It’s a Berry Good Market!” event.

182 people showed up, and by the time the photo person arrived, the strawberries were mostly GONE.

Now THAT’s the kind of problem the Market likes to have!  :~)

YAY! Last week we finally got to meet the real life “Rooty”, our Market Mascot. If you missed out, come say a big orange “Hello!” to Rooty this Wednesday the 15th. You can also say “Cheese!” because it’s Dairy Day. Get your picture taken with a (not quite real) cow, and our VERY real carrot friend, Rooty!

Special thanks to Emily Preston for her help in bringing Rooty to life. How many of you know the person inside the carrot? :~)

Happy Hats for Opening Day

We had a LOVELY Opening Day this week!

June 8 was breezy, cool, scattered showers (didn’t last long so we don’t care), and 182 friends and supporters came to visit and shop and show off their happy hats! 35 kids played market BINGO. Kyle Masterson tried out the new music stand (strong and handsome)(both Kyle and the stand). We welcomed several new vendors to the market, and we were happy to see the business was brisk all the way around. THANKS so much to everyone who came and made Day 1 of Year 10 a big success!

See you next Wednesday, June 15, for Say “Cheese!” It’s Dairy Day.
Music by Don Bartenstein. Kids, don’t forget to play BINGO!

Great Summer Schedule for 2016

In addition to everything listed here, there is the summer-long Market BINGO game for kids, fun and educational activities, a variety of food demonstrations, a weekly library book sale, and occasional special guests (like Judy Nelson doing chair massages on Opening Day). With the Market situated adjacent to the center of Canterbury, there are plenty of places for kids to play on the grass away from traffic, and we have two picnic tables to encourage friends to sit a spell, catch up, and nibble on their purchases!

Most importantly, remember that all the fun is second to the weekly harvest
of >fresh< and >local< food brought to you by our hard-working vendors!

If the banner is up at Da Dump…

…that means the Farmers Market is almost here! Get ready to wear your “Happy Hats” to opening day, Wednesday, June 8, and help us begin the celebration of the Market’s 10th Anniversary! The most festive hat will win a prize.

You’ll find us in our traditional spot next to the Elkins Library, 9 Center Road, Canterbury, NH, rain or shine (except for major thunderstorms).

In addition to our 20+ fantastic vendors, look for these other Opening Day Specials:
– Music by Kyle Masterson
– Chair massages by Judy Nelson
– Book Sale by the Elkins Library
– Adult Clothing Exchange at the Town Hall

Click on the vendor tab for a full list of our 2016 vendors. While you’re here, you can also subscribe to the weekly Market News, delivered fresh to your Email inbox with all the latest info about vendors, events, and specials. We never share our list! We simply send you a gentle reminder that the market is coming up so that you have plenty of time to call a friend or two and bring them with you! :~)

If you have kids who are 12 and under, be sure to stop by the Market Info tent and ask for a Market BINGO card. You don’t have to show up at a certain time to play — you get to play whenever you arrive. Come find out how your child can learn more about our great vendors, and at the same time have a chance to win a $5 market token!

Remember, we accept SNAP/EBT/credit/debit cards. There are matching funds available for SNAP recipients. Ask at the Market Info tent!
