FAQs

ARE DOGS ALLOWED?

Yes, your furry companions are welcome at the market. We ask that you PLEASE keep them safely on-leash. Stop by the Market Info tent – we generally have a bowl of fresh water and some nice dog treats! Even so, the Market can be super hot on some days. Please plan accordingly!

WHERE DO I PARK?

There is a large parking area between the church and the historic Town Hall in Canterbury Center. Pull right in – the Market is located at the far end of this parking area, next to and behind the library. There is plenty of parking up front for shoppers. Please be aware of signs designating which parking is to be left for library patrons.

Also, as you pull into Canterbury Center, you will see a village green with a bandstand. There is plenty of parking available in the blacktop area surrounding the green. Please note that the parking spaces immediately in front of the Canterbury Country Store are reserved for the patrons of the Store.

IS THE MARKET WHEELCHAIR ACCESSIBLE?

Yes! The Market is located next to the Elkins Library, at one end of their parking area. It is easy to pull in, and a flat, smooth ride from the car to the all the tents! Some vendors are in a grassy area near the back of the market, but the ground there is flat and level, too. If you need help with anything, stop in to the Market Info tent. We will be happy to assist!

WHAT IF I AM SHORT ON CASH?

The Market has an EBT processing terminal, and you will be able to use your credit/debit card to buy tokens that can be used at any of the vendors! We are also be able to accept SNAP debit cards, and have a certain amount of SNAP matching funds available. Stop by the Market Info tent to use this service.

ARE THERE RESTROOMS AVAILABLE?

Yes! We are adjacent to the Elkins Library, which is open at the same time as the market. Please be respectful of their facilities – we want our library neighbors to continue being happy having us there each week!

IT IS RAINING. IS THE MARKET OPEN?

The Market is open rain or shine. The only exception is giant thunderstorms! Please check the Market’s Facebook page if the weather looks dark and full of lightening. Any Market closings will be posted there. You can also call the front desk at the Elkins Library and ask the very nice person who answers the phone if the market has been cancelled for the day ( 603-783-4386).
